Privacy Policy

MMC Packaging Equipment Ltd. (MMC) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection law. This Privacy Policy informs you about how, to what extent, and for what purposes we process personal data when you use the MMC website.

1. Collection, Processing and Use of Personal Data at Your Request

Use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. You are neither obliged to visit this website nor to provide personal data when doing so. If you do not provide us with personal data, you may not be able to use certain features of this website. Otherwise, there are no consequences for you. Where personal data (such as name, address, or email addresses) is collected on our site, this is done on a voluntary basis, except in the cases expressly described below. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. We would like to point out that data transmission over the internet (e.g. communication by email) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Where the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time, with the result that the processing of your personal data outside of MMC’s legal obligations becomes impermissible.

2. Contact Form; Request for Information Materials

When you contact us via the contact form, we store your details (in particular name and salutation, your contact details, your company, the country, and your message) and process these in order to handle your enquiry. The same applies if you request information materials from us. If you optionally provide your telephone number, we may contact you by phone to discuss your request and refer you to the appropriate contact person.

The legal basis for this data processing is – depending on the subject matter of your enquiry – the permissibility of processing in the context of contract initiation, a contract, or our legitimate interest in providing a contact form for general enquiries and in providing information materials (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or your consent (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If you consent to being informed by email about the latest products and services of MMC, we will send you this information by email. Your details will be stored in a shared distribution list for this purpose. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. You can use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or contact us directly.

3. Data Processing to Enable Use of the Website

When you visit our website, we collect data to enable you to use it. This includes your IP address and data about the start, end, and subject of your use of the website, as well as, where applicable, identification data (e.g. your login data if you log in to a secure area). This data is used to provide and tailor the service to your needs. It is generally deleted as soon as it is no longer needed and there are no retention obligations. For the processing of pseudonymous usage profiles for web analytics, see Section 6.

4. Consent to Cookies and Web Analytics

When you visit our website, a so-called “cookie banner” appears, through which MMC asks for your consent to the use of cookies to optimise the website (see Section 5) and for web analytics (see Section 6). If you agree, MMC will proceed as described in more detail in the following sections (Sections 6 to 13). There you will also find information on how you can withdraw your consent at any time and prevent the setting of cookies or web analytics by the technology of individual providers. In accordance with the settings you make via the cookie banner, data about your use is collected via cookies on the MMC website and processed by MMC.

5. Cookies

When you visit our website and consent (see Section 4), information in the form of a cookie may be stored on your computer. Cookies are small text files sent from a web server to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive. This enables us to recognise you when you visit the website again, allowing us to ensure better functionality of the site and, for example, to carry out web analyses (see Section 6). Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. You can deactivate the storage of cookies in your browser settings and can delete them from your hard drive at any time. Please note that use of our website without cookies may be limited. However, you can also use your browser to prevent only certain cookies (e.g. third-party cookies), for example if you wish to prevent web tracking. For more information, please refer to the help function of your browser.

6. Web Analytics (Google Analytics)

When you visit our website and consent (see Section 4), we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (Google). Google Analytics uses cookies (see Section 5) to enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, your IP address is first truncated and anonymised by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services relating to website and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can withdraw your consent to web analytics and the associated use of cookies as follows: You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings (see Section 5). You can also prevent the collection and transmission of data relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link. Alternatively, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics by setting an opt-out cookie on your device using the following link.

Further information on data protection at Google Analytics can be found at:

https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/

7. Google Maps

On this website we use the Google Maps service. Google Maps is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This allows us to display interactive maps directly on the website and enables you to make convenient use of the map function.

Further information about data processing by Google can be found in the Google Privacy Notice. There you can also change your personal data protection settings in the Privacy Centre:

https://www.google.com/policies/privacy

8. LinkedIn Ads, LinkedIn Analytics and LinkedIn Marketing Solutions

We use services provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (“LinkedIn”). As part of these services, LinkedIn collects and stores usage data in pseudonymous profiles in order to enable statistical evaluations of website usage and the success of advertisements, as well as interest-based advertising on our website and on LinkedIn and LinkedIn partner sites. If you are a LinkedIn user, LinkedIn may also merge the data with your user account. LinkedIn also uses cookies for data collection (see Section 5). You can deactivate this and the associated data collection via the following websites:

Deactivation is generally saved via a cookie and must therefore be renewed if you delete your cookies. In addition, the deactivation must be carried out separately for each browser.

Further information on data protection in the context of LinkedIn services can be found at: www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy

9. YouTube Videos

Videos are embedded on our website, provided by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, represented by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. We have embedded the YouTube videos using YouTube’s “extended data protection mode”. This prevents YouTube from processing data about your visit or setting cookies on your device merely by loading a page with an embedded video. When you click on a video, your IP address is transmitted to YouTube and YouTube learns that you have watched the video. If you are logged in to YouTube, this information is also associated with your user account (you can prevent this by logging out of YouTube before opening the video). We have no knowledge of and no influence over the collection and use of your data by YouTube when a video is accessed. For more information, please refer to YouTube’s Privacy Policy at: www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/

10. Transmission to Third Parties and to States Outside the EU

Your personal data will only be transmitted to third parties if there is a legal basis for doing so or if you have previously consented. We will only pass on your data to government authorities within the scope of our legal obligations or on the basis of an official order or court decision.

11. Deletion

Data collected via Google Analytics in the form of pseudonymous usage profiles (Section 6) is deleted at the latest 38 months after the last new entry in the respective usage profile. Otherwise, we delete your personal data as soon as it is no longer needed for the purposes pursued by its collection and processing, provided there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary.

12. Data Security

MMC has implemented technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data you provide against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorised access. Our employees and all persons involved in data processing are obliged to comply with data protection laws and to handle personal data confidentially.

To protect the personal data of our users, we use a secure online transmission method known as “Secure Socket Layer” (SSL) transmission. You can recognise this by the “s” appended to the address element http:// (i.e. “https://”) or a green, closed padlock symbol. Clicking on the symbol provides information about the SSL certificate in use. The display of the symbol depends on the browser version you are using. SSL encryption ensures the encrypted and complete transmission of your data.

13. Your Rights Regarding Personal Data

Data protection law grants you a number of rights with respect to data relating to you (so-called data subject rights). These include the right to request information about the personal data stored about you, as well as the right to rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of the processing of such data, and the right to object to processing. Whether and to what extent these rights exist in individual cases and what conditions apply is governed by law. If you have given consent to the processing of your personal data, you may withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
